Eight years ago. Ski edges sheered across sudden ice. I slammed sideways into the ground and the ski bindings held firm, clamping ski to boot instead of releasing. Most of the force was transmitted through my left knee. And that was that: medevaced off the mountain with anterior cruciate and medial meniscal damage.
